If it was simply a food review, it would get a ten out of ten stars. The food is superb...everything we have ever had has been delicious and creative. The service has ranged from lower mediocre to terrible....absolutely terrible. Best service ever was at the bar when the owner was there one night and helped us. Often times, it looks as if they just picked up random people on the street corner and asked them to come in and serve dinner. Very scary. Hire some well trained help. They will be worth their weight in gold....

Really fresh, delicious food. Friendly staff. Chill vibe. Nice decor. You won't be disappointed. The fish tacos and farm salad are my favorite combo, but everything's delicious.

They were out of several of the beers we tried to order and it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come to our table to order drinks. The fish tacos were so-so in flavor and were a sloppy mess to eat. The burger was ordered well done and came out mooing and cold on the inside. The homemade chips were just ribbon cut fries and were soggy with grease. They were not crispy and had what tasted like Lowery's seasoning on them. Overall I thought the menu is very elementary. The food was mediocre and the service was awful. It's disappointing because I wanted to like this place but for the money I would prefer to eat at Food Shack or Coolinary Cafe.

Excellent service! There was a problem with a third party service center that I ordered through, they said delivery but this restaurant does not deliver. After waiting almost 2 hours I called the service and found out the food wasn't coming. However the manager of the restaurant stepped up and personally delivered the food. The food was a little cold from sitting but that was solved pretty quick with the oven. I know the food is good here because I have eaten at the restaurant and really enjoyed it. I appreciate the manager stepping up and fulfilling my delivery when a third party site had screwed up.

Grommet's was a huge disappointment. We really wanted to like it because it's close to our home and we're fans of the whole farm-to-table thing. But the menu seemed limited, our entrees were lackluster, and the atmosphere needs some help. When we arrived at the restaurant on a Friday evening, we requested a table for two and the hostess immediately gestured toward the empty bar stools and asked, "Would you like to sit at the bar?" There were many, many unoccupied tables, so the question seemed very strange. Once we were seated at a table and got our menus, we noticed the rather short list of entrees. The choices -- including a burger and fish tacos -- didn't seem very interesting. However, we were very happy to see the nice selection of craft beers! At the same time, the beer list lacked any description. I quickly Googled on my phone for information about the beers, but our server returned before I could get any results. I had to ask her: What IS the Due South Mexican Standoff? (To be fair, I'll say that she was great and quickly brought us samples.) We ordered the fried green tomato appetizer, and that was excellent. But our fish taco entrees were not very good. The tortillas were spread flat on each plate, and the fish, sliced avocado and lettuce and tomato were in piles along the edge of our stacks of tortillas. So, they were assemble-your-own tacos, which seemed like an unnecessary hassle. My husband and I each chose the homemade chips as our side, and they were soggy and tasted like stale frying oil in need of changing. We found unappetizing puddles of oil under our chips. Dinner for two with drinks, tip and appetizer cost close to $75, far too much given the quality of the food. Our service was fine, but the look of Grommet's wasn't very warm and welcoming. It felt like we were eating in a fire hall. The walls were sparsely decorated, and the place seemed unfinished and cheap. I'm sorry, Grommet's! I was really hoping you would become our new favorite place, but I doubt that we'll return.

Small little restaurant in a strip mall, but it has a romantic vibe. I'd go here for date night, but its perfect for just a casual night out as well. I liked the menu, it was eclectic and had interesting items that I'd like to go back and try, such as the Fois Grom Nom and the shrimp and grits. Some of the sides had me curious as well like the tuber tuber and the healthy goodness? Have to revisit and give those a try too. Anyway, we ordered three appetizers and all were pretty spot on. My favorite was the brussel sprouts with an over easy egg on top, but the clams and the smoked wings were good too. Personally, I thought that the chorizo in the clams could have been a bit crispier and the wings I would have preferred to be more tender, like the ones at Guana's, but they were still good. Service was fine. Beer and wine selection was nice too. Will be back again.

I tried 5 items. Everyone was fantastic. Casey and the entire team were awesome. They have TBC on tap and are adding 8 more drafts. I look forward to lunch tomorrow. FYI the General Tsao's Cauliflower is a must. It's nice to eat at a non corporate chain!

Run don't walk to Grommet's Tavern - right now. I mean right now. I have been a little grumpy in some of my recent reviews because of over priced hype with bad food. I am so glad to find Grommet's The location is tough to find - located in Loggerhead Plaza in Juno beach just north of Donald Ross, and adorned by the same monotone signs that are in the rest of the plaza. That doesn't matter. I often find the most inauspicious occasions usually carry the best surprises. I am again right in that assertion. Once you enter the sparse décor is minimal but not so much that it seems barren. The owner, a Florida native - Casey is all over the restaurant. A sign that she cares and it shows everywhere. The tables and chairs look to be all gathered from antique shops in the area. The bar appears to be aqua oxidized copper and is finished below by wood planks weathered by the sea. It fits the location beautifully. Pay special attention to the back bar. Someone who really cares spent time building out the colors. I came at lunch but had a chance to look the dinner menu which was equally as inviting. I sat and was instantly greeted by Casey and Patty the bartender/ server/ just wonderful person. I said it your place tell me what to order, and they did with confidence. (I love when that happens) Patty went on to tell me that the entire menu is Farm to Table. They even have the farms they use listed on the wall. Patty started me with the General Tsao's Cauliflower. Now you know I have been to all parts of this country eating great food but I have never in my life had a dish like this. It was wonderful Beer battered cauliflower florets tossed in the delectably sticky general tsao's sauce. I paired this dish with Gnarley Barley from local brewery Tequesta Brewing Company. My affection for this concept continued to grow as Casey (who knows a bunch about craft beer) went on to tell me that they only carry FLORIDA BEERS. Think TBC, Inlet Brewing and Due South all in the same place. I was floored. I also knew that I would be coming back very soon. On tap with this review is TBC - Chancellor, Gnarley Barley, and Smoking Red Due South - Mexican Stand Off, South Saison, Marina Stout and Cat 5; Wynwod - Black Ipa, Beat the Wheat For my lunch because today was the one freezing day we have Patty recommended the beef stew. I was hesitant as it was a special and I wanted to review on the food that was always there but something about it called my name. I am so glad that I did. the beef stew came out piping hot. Slow braised fall apart prime rib mixed with diced carrots, mushrooms, green beans, barley and plenty of seasoning is exactly what I needed. The chef created bread for the soup out of phlox dough which at first I thought was a miss, but as I ate them with the stew I realized they were perfect for the dish. The technique the chef demonstrated from the tantalizing phlox bread to the balance of the stew to fun cauliflower was quite impressive. To say the least - I FULLY RECOMMEND YOU RUN HERE NOW. They are open tonight - I promise you - you can't go wrong. Till my next gem - Dine Fine.

Love to write a nice review about farm to plate food, a really nice selection of well poured beer, a lovely waitress that made the meal so special, a desert to die for, but cant, the joint is closed. Why is that? A really weird shopping center, is anything open?

Great, cute little spot with a beautiful all recycled interior. I decided to try this new spot while in Juno Beach over Christmas! The staff was extremely friendly and warm and the menu had a lot of interesting and tasty sounding options. We started with the General Tso's Cauliflower which was absolutely delicious! I would have eaten a whole order if I could. It was perfectly crispy and the sauce had just enough spice. I would love to recreate this dish at home. My mom had the shrimp and grits and I went with the fish tacos. The shrimp and grits were amazing and the cheesy grits were so decadent and delicious. The fish tacos were also great- a bit messy to eat but I really enjoyed all the toppings that came with them. I would love to come back to this place soon and hope that it proves to be a successful neighborhood spot!

Went for lunch yesterday with a group of ladies. We have had this place on our radar since it opened and we were excited to finally try it. So many things added up to a very disappointing experience. First we ordered the Midday Nugget which upon arrival the waitress dumped part of it right off the plate on the table. No big deal, we all smiled and she did bring us a little bowl of the chorizo/salsa topping to replace what was spilled. But we did have to return appetizer plates due to crusted food left on them. The appetizer was cold on the inside for a fried tomato and not really flavorful, despite the combination. We then moved on to our main dishes. We ordered the Fish Tacos which we were told the Catch of the Day was Mahi. (Try frozen or catch of last week). They were so fishy that after only one bite the overwhelming fishiness basically runied the meal entirely for two of the girls. They both sent them back. I offered to share my sandwich with one gal which was the Bahn Mi. Again, fail! The bread was similar to a hard italian hoagie roll, the chicken was tough, the sauce tasted like that sweet thai chili sauce that come in a packet at asian restaurants and the picked veggies were thick slices of carrots and cucumber layered on top. It was messy and very difficult to pick up and eat. We ended up both picking at the chicken and leaving 1/2 of it untouched. The last item we ordered was The Gobbler. I guess it's fair to say that this was the best item we ordered but it was just "eh". Luckily they had wine which was your average low end, nothing exciting, wine. We all left hungry and headed home to Jupiter to a different restaurant for appetizers. Great location and concept, poor execution and inexperienced waitstaff. Bummer. Hope they can pull it together.

  • Mike S.

This is one of those places where the service transcends the food, which means I'll be back. Food is good in concept but the execution needs some honing. But the owners and staff are so darn nice, who cares?

Lost for words!! We waited for 15 minutes for drinks another hour for food. Excuse for the long wait was that the chef was sick. Manager knew about the problem but failed to check on us . Food was just okay. Will never return again worst experience ever.

Great reviews led us to this gem. Cauliflower appetizer was spot on. Great recommendation. Comfortable atmosphere, clean and pleasant staff. They try and buy local produce...creative combos!

This was an awful experience. We should have left after waiting 40+ minutes for mediocre food when we were one the first ones there. The waitress apologized and told us they would reduce our bill. Not even, had to remind them since they forgot about us. Fish tacos are overpriced for fishsticks size grilled fish in a torillia shell...a can of sardines has more meat than my fish tonight. Wish I couldn't even rate a star Manager did not help the situation. Only stopped by to say they are plating our food. Several tables were given their food before we got our 2 burgers, fish tacos, and Mac and cheese. Sadly, 2 hours of my life I will never want to relive. Took forever to even pay to get out of the place.

General Tsao's Cauliflower: just get it. I stopped in here for lunch while my wife was at a meeting nearby. What a nice find! I really wanted to try everything on the menu. I ended up getting the cauliflower, a grilled chicken sandwich, and dirty house chips. All were very tasty. The dirty house chips are what are called "raw fries" in South Carolina - homemade potato chips that are between limp and crispy These had a nice spice on them. I just wish there had been a few more of them. I enjoyed a local IPA on tap. I really like tasting the local brews when I'm visiting somewhere. Service was good. I sad at the bar, so your mileage may vary at tables.

Great menu, great beer, great food! Tried the fish tacos and brusselspouts first night - excellent! Next time, ordered the fried lionfish special. Amazing presentation with whole fish displayed, spikes and all, meat cut off into tasty bite-size morsels over a bed of rice and beans with a Thai-style peanut satay sauce. Hawaiian-style haupia and fried sugarcane for desert!! Hmm, what should I try next!?

Since the menu was so well written my wife and I tried 5 items. General Tsao's Cauliflower was not anything I had ever heard of before. It was outstanding. The Fish Tacos and Cobb Salad were well prepared and presented with a chefs pride. Again, both excellent. Our waitress was very helpful with choices and extremely polite. Much success!!!

A lot of promise and very close to delivering great eats with a unique blend of cheeses, aromatic breads, organic greens, pork belly and chicken. My wife had a Charleston favorite, Shrimp and Grits. I could never get my wife to even try Shrimp and Grits in Charleston, but she decided to try the entrée at Grommet's and like it very much. A southern staple served proudly. I had a chicken sandwich on toasted bread cut at least two inches thick with brie and some sort of pickled vegetable and yucca chips. The bread was toasted a bit too much and the chicken was a little too dry. There wasn't any sort of condiment to wet the sandwich so lots of ice tea helped get it down. All the dryness aside, the sandwich did have a lot of flavor but a little mayonnaise would have saved the sandwich entirely. The waiter was very friendly, but the food delivery just bordered on being slow. All in all, however, the visit was a good experience. We will try again. The menu has several salads that I would like to try. Fish Taco's and some sort of General Tso's Cauliflower looked interesting.

Had no idea this restaurant was hiding in the Loggerhead shopping center until recently. Nice casual feel but with chef prepared original dishes. Rib Eye was on the menu, but they were substituting with NY Strip last night. Can't beat that! Hubbie said it was great. I had Chef Hash with sweet pot/apples with pork. Really unique. The amazing part of dinner was the homemade Oreo Cheesecake. THE BEST CHEESECAKE we've ever had. Waitress said they make everything they serve from scratch.

Tried the Chicharrones which was fantastic, even though not normally a fan of brussel sprouts. Also had the Cobb salad which was wonderful; The greens were crisp and flavorful which punctuated the smoky, rich delightfully tender pulled pork, then well finished by sweet crispy nuggets of fried cornbread instead of croutons. They'd already sold out of several items (we went late), so we can't wait to go back and try more. This place has lots of potential with an energetic, helpful, cheery staff. Not to mention that the restaurant supports local farmers by buying regional produce.

Flavorful fresh food, nice selection of craft beers, friendly helpful and knowledgeable service, several options for fresh catch of the day, our first visit we were greeted warmly, had different menu items explained re: preparation techniques, their 'farm to table' claim is for real! Highly recommend your first visit!

Grommet's was amazing! I wish we lived here so we could eat here everyday. The service was amazing and only second to the food. We didn't even know when we came that majority of the food is purchased from local farms and none of the food is frozen. This is my first time writing a review. I would recommend eating here to anyone and everyone including the Pope! Do yourself a favor and come have lunch or dinner. You'll be back I promise you!

Came in for a drink last week with my hubby (love our town, Jupiter people are the best!) and had to come back the food looked so good (this time I brought my mom) for dinner! It was a stormy Monday night so it wasn't crowded and we sat right down. Our waitress was very friendly and helped is with wine selections as well as dinner suggestions. I ordered the chicharrones and Mac and cheese, mom had fish tacos and their homemade chips. I LOVED how crispy my Brussel sprouts were in the chicharrones but I guess I'm not a huge pork belly fan, lesson learned. Great flavor though! And the Mac and cheese?? Well I just wanted to swim in it..,..hit the spot on a "chilly" Florida night. Red wine and Mac and cheese....pretty perfect to me!!! Mom's fish tacos were Mahi Mahi and she was SO HAPPY with them! She's a great cook herself so it takes someplace special to make her love going out to eat. Grommets hit the spot tonight! Hoping for more fresh fish on the menu in the future. One suggestion is the decor in the bar is warm, but the dining side needs a little more to it. But staff is friendly and all in all, I recommend it!!!

Has been open for a few months now but should be here to stay based on the food. The General Tso's Cauliflower is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD and a must try. There menu is one page which is usually a very good sign. The bone in pork chop covered with a berry sauce was bursting with flavor. Next time we go we are going to try the Fois Gras and the smoked jerk wings. They must've been excellent because at 6:30 PM they were sold out. Great place for a date or other occasion

The other reviews must be written by shills. Some of the food was inedible. The rest was fine enough that you could give them the benefit of the doubt and call it an off night for the kitchen. Might be a good place for folks who think mac-n-cheese with truffle oil sounds 'interesting'... could be a good place to stop by for a beer and fries.

4 stars because its a new place and they are trying hard. We went on a week night and most of the tables were full. The cauliflower was tasty as others have mentioned. We also tried the mac and cheese, pork belly and brussel sprouts, shrimp and grits and a plate of wings. They were all good but we weren't "Wow'd!" by and particular dish. We look forward to returning and trying a couple more main courses. The bar seemed heavy on beer but a little light on wine.

I want to love you Grommets. You are close to my home. The people that work here are very nice. I have been here two times now. Service both times was pretty slow. Took a while to get drinks, drink refills and just overall service even though the restaurant both times was not full. I also really want to like the food but it is a little heavy and it is not blowing me away. This is a new restaurant in a great location for me. To me the menu needs tweaked a bit and the service needs to be a little better and you would have a winner. The ambience at the bar is very nice but in the restaurant it is missing something. Can't figure out what it is but it just seems a little off. I have faith that the menu and service will be fixed. on the positive the people again are very nice and there is a very nice beer selection. It appears also that there is an effort to keep ingredients local and environmentally right which for me is a big plus. Keep trying new things and I will review again when I come back. #LoveWhatYouEat

Wow! My friend and I just happened to stumble upon this place and I have to say that I'm excited by our find! Celebrated my husband's birthday here last night. Very unique, friendly, and delicious. Our server, Melissa, was so attentive. Kudos to Chef Taylor. Tried a lot of things...highlights were appetizers like the General Tzo's Cauliflower. I made my meal out of side dishes: great collards filled with large amounts of smoked meat and not overly salty, mashed root vegetables, mac and cheese, fresh kale salad, and more. Dessert was a creamy cheese cake with graham crust, flavored with vanilla bean and blood orange zest with a freshly brewed cup of coffee from local roaster, Oceana. Wine and Beer list unique with local and organic choices. I'm a foodie and can't wait to return and try more.

I'm not sure if I went on a major off night for the kitchen, but the five star reviews for this place are hard to believe. I'm giving Grommets two starts because the staff was really friendly and helpful... and, because the bartender was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer. Sadly, the food was really bad. I ordered the burger (medium well) and it tasted like charcoal throughout. The side of mac and cheese was my backup plan after tasting the burger, but that was bland and runny. Went with a few friends, and we all were disappointed in our various meals. Worst part was, most of us were sick that night after dinner. We all gave the manager an honest review before we left, and was promised it would be relayed back to the kitchen, but unfortunately the majority of the food was just too bad for me to give this new restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I'm hoping things get better, because I want to like this place.

Great reviews led us to this gem. Cauliflower appetizer was spot on. Great recommendation. Comfortable atmosphere, clean and pleasant staff. They try and buy local produce...creative combos!

Brand new farm to table restaurant locally sourced with great craft brews. The chef is fantastic and super creative and the menu had vegetarian friendly options for my friend. New favorite place :)
